What changes the price of home staging

  • Size of the home. More bedrooms and living areas mean more furniture.

  • Vacant or occupied. Vacant homes need a full fit-out. If you're still living there, we style around your furniture, which can cost less.

  • Extra spaces. Media rooms, studies, sun rooms, decks and pool areas all add to the look buyers see in photos.

  • Hire length. The standard hire is 5 weeks. If your campaign runs longer, it's easy to extend at 10% of the initial price per week.

  • Plants. Indoor and outdoor plant staging is optional and priced separately, from $520 + GST on the North Shore.

Is home staging worth the cost?

Staging is usually a small part of the cost of selling, but it shapes your listing photos, your open homes and buyers' first impressions. In a competitive Auckland market, a home that photographs well and feels move-in ready tends to attract more interest, and more interest can mean a faster sale and a stronger price.

It also helps to compare staging with the alternative. If a home sits on the market, sellers are often advised to reduce the price. On most Auckland homes, the cost of staging is a small fraction of even a modest price reduction. Read more in Is home staging worth it?
